I grew up with Flossy in the bathroom. To me it was as normal as a toothbrush. I honestly thought everyone had one. They didn't. My dad invented it.
It started when his dentist told him he needed to floss. But flossing sucks. Wrapping string around your fingers is awful, and you can't reach the back teeth anyway. Disposable floss picks aren't comfortable to hold, and you throw them away after every single use. So my dad did what dads do. He decided to build something better.
He developed Flossy together with Swedish dental hygienists, raised a little money to produce it, and patented it back in 1997. He ran it for a few years with a friend, got it into ICA and dental clinics, and sold around 15,000 of them. Then life happened. It was a different time, it never fully took off, and with young families they didn't dare keep betting on it. So they shut it down. For years Dad would say: "When I retire, I'll get Flossy going again."
I didn't want to wait that long. I dropped out of school, because I didn't want to study and have a normal life. I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I picked Flossy back up, made a new website and branding, and taught myself marketing and design. We started with about 2,000 kr left on the company account. At our best, we've reached around 100,000 kr a month. No investors. Just us.
Today I do the sales, design, customer service and tech. My dad assembles every single Flossy by hand and ships every order himself. When the old stock ran out, our neighbour of 20 years, who runs a plastics factory in Småland, became our producer. Every handle is made from medical-grade material, in Sweden, by people we actually know.

Every Flossy comes with 30 m of floss already loaded, so you can start straight away. The Flossy Kit also includes an extra 30 m refill spool.
Do I need to replace the whole thing?
Only the floss. The handle is designed to be reused, and the spool inside is replaceable. Keep your Flossy and add a fresh refill when you need one.
Can I use floss from another brand?
It may be possible, but we cannot guarantee that every spool will fit. A spool with an inner diameter of about 9 mm has the best chance of fitting. Our own refills are made to fit Flossy.
How do I keep Flossy clean?
Rinse with warm water and mild soap, then let it dry thoroughly. Avoid dishwashers, boiling water and harsh cleaners. Replace used floss with a fresh section as part of your routine.
What does the lifetime guarantee cover?
If your Flossy handle breaks during normal use, we’ll replace it. Contact us with your order details and a photo so we can help. The guarantee covers the handle, rather than the consumable floss.
